Alex Pettyfer and model ex go public with love split

British movie hunk Alex Pettyfer has lost another love.

The 25-year-old actor has split from Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Marloes Horst, 27.

The Magic Mike star, whose exes include his I Am Number Four co-star Dianna Agron and Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keogh, announced his latest love split on Instagram in a bid to keep gossip about the former couple to a minimum.

"I wouldn't normally do this as I like to keep my life private," he wrote. "Despite what may be written, Marloes and I split up due to her being a crazy hot supermodel and her and my work just keeping us apart. It was a mutual decision."

But he suggested he and his ex might find a way to reconnect in the future, adding, "We are incredible close (sic) and love each other tremendously!!! We are best friends and who knows what the future holds. #shewillalwaysbefamily #factisgreaterthanfiction."

His model ex, who has also graced stunning ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, also took to social media to announce the end of the romance.

"Despite of what some papers may say, Alex and i split due to our busy schedules," she added.

"It's sadning (saddening) to read these negative articles since we are very close and love each other dearly! So we took it into our own hands to say it was a mutual decision, we are best friends and will always remain each others family."

The former couple started dating in April, 2014.

Tabloid reports that led to to the couple opening up about its split suggested Alex had dumped the Dutch model so he could party as a single man.
