Akon has quit his London radio show after just one broadcast. The Smack That hitmaker recently signed up to host a two-hour programme every Saturday night on Capital FM. His radio debut aired on 13 February (10), but the timeslot's previous host filled in for the star last week (20Feb10). Now bosses at the station have confirmed Akon won't be returning. A spokesman for Global Radio, the company which owns Capital FM, tells Guardian Online, "Due to Akon's commitments, including working on a brand new album, we won't be broadcasting a regular show on 95.8 Capital FM for the time being. Our conversations about future shows are ongoing as we explore other opportunities that may work for both of us."
