Aja Naomi King tapped as L'Oreal Paris brand ambassador

How To Get Away With Murder star Aja Naomi King has been named as L'oreal Paris' new spokesperson.

The 32-year-old actress, who plays law student Michaela Pratt on the hit TV show, will be fronting a campaign for the beauty giant's new range of True Match Lumi Glow products.

Aja couldn't hide her excitement in an official statement announcing her new role, gushing, "To now represent L'Oreal Paris is incredibly overwhelming. I am so excited to help others find and believe in the beauty of who they are because everyone deserves to know their own worth."

She joins the likes of Elle Fanning, Eva Longoria and popstar Camila Cabello in acting as one of the faces of L'Oreal Paris, and it was her mother who first helped her discover her love of make-up.

Recalling how she watched her mum apply cosmetics every morning, wanting "so badly" to be a part of the beauty ritual, Aja added, "Seeing how much she enjoyed putting make-up on, including her go-to L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolour, inspired me to love make-up as much as she did. Make-up became my armour growing up. It provided me with a sense of protection and gave me the power and confidence to face the world in the way I wanted."

The Birth of a Nation actress shared an official black and white shot from the advertisements on her social media platforms, noting she is "honoured" to be a part of the L'Oreal Paris family and that "gratitude can't begin to describe" what she is feeling.

Aja also uploaded a funny clip of herself on Instagram wrapping her arms around a table of make-up, with a filter adding a sparkle to both her and the products.

"All this L'Oreal #TrueMatchLumi has me feeling like... (heart eye emojis) @lorealmakeup," she captioned the video.
