Adele worked at a record store after 2009 Grammy's win
Adele took a job at a local record store following her Grammy Awards win in 2009 because she wanted to stay abreast of the industry's up and coming talent.
The Chasing Pavements hitmaker walked away with the coveted Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance accolades at the Los Angeles ceremony three years ago and she subsequently took up work at London-based Rough Trade Records to fuel her inspiration.
Revisiting the shop during an interview with newsman Anderson
Cooper, which aired on Sunday (12Feb12), she said, "After the
Grammys... I came here and worked here for a while. No one knows I
did it... I did it for myself."
Adele's employment at the store had fellow staffers dumbfounded,
she adds: "They were baffled by it."
The British singer scored gold again at this year's (12) Grammy
Awards on Sunday night, picking up six prizes including Album of
the Year and Record of the Year.
