Adele tested friends with fake media stories

Adele tested her support system following her rise to fame by planting fake stories to snare her least loyal friends.

The Someone Like You hitmaker grew skeptical of her pals after private details of her life were leaked to the press and the soul singer admits she solved the problem with one little test.

In an interview on news show 60 Minutes, which aired on Sunday (12Feb12), she explained, "I plant stories and see who leaks them and I get rid of them.

"I tell like a group of people who I'm suspicious of, I tell them all a different story with different details in it, but all roughly the same story so I can keep my eye on it, and then when it would come out I knew who it was."
