British singer Adele has been crowned queen of the Internet in 2015 after topping end of year lists compiled by experts at search engine Google.

The pop star has clinched the number one slot in the company's Top Trending Music Artists rundown, confirming her as the 'most-searched' musician of the year (15) despite only returning to the spotlight in October (15).

Adele's comeback single Hello, which broke records across the world following its release in October (15), also topped Google's Top Trending Song Lyrics list.

In the 'most-searched' artists rundown, Adele saw off competition from Sia, Sam Smith and Meghan Trainor who all featured in the top 10, and the lyrics list features hits including Take Me to Church by Hozier and Mark Ronson's Bruno Mars collaboration Uptown Funk.

The 'People' list was led by Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband Lamar Odom, who suffered a medical crisis in October (15), and the movie countdown was dominated by dinosaur reboot Jurassic World.
