Adele plans to attend university during touring break

British singer Adele would love to attend Harvard University.

The 28-year-old recently revealed her disappointment at not attending an institution of higher learning, after she was forced to turn down her place at a British university in favour of a record deal.

During her show in Boston last week (ends18Sep16), she told the audience she is "desperate" to be a student and her top pick would be elite Ivy League institution Harvard University.

“I’m desperate to go to university. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s one thing I really plan on doing,” she confessed.

The London-born singer shared she plans to pick up her studies after being forced to reject an offer when she landed her first record contract.

“I was about to start university in Liverpool in England and then I got offered a record deal, so I was like, ‘Ugh, what do I do?’" she explained. “Obviously I took the record deal which I don’t regret at all.”

Despite reaching music's upper echelon with her huge selling albums, Adele revealed she is harboring ambitions to attend Harvard University in Massachusetts, the alma mater of movie star Natalie Portman, 35, and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

“I want to go and do a tour of Harvard but I don’t want anyone thinking I’m smart enough to go to Harvard," she laughed. "I’m going to buy a T-shirt so I can sleep in a Harvard T-shirt. I think I would pretend to wear glasses if I went to university.”

Adele's plan to take a break from music and return to education comes after the singer confirmed she is going to quit touring for 10 years. The story was first reported by The Sun.

“I’m sorry if I disappear for a while, but I do it for you,” she sighed.
