Adele blasts rumours Rebel Wilson will play her onscreen
Adele has shut down rumours that Rebel Wilson is set to play her onscreen.
Speaking to her audience at London's O2 Arena on Monday (4Apr16) the songstress hit out at the suggestion the comic actress would play her in a movie, because she is also "plus-sized" woman.
The 27-year-old Hello singer seemed upset at the suggestion, saying
that the Perfect Pitch actress would need her "permission" before
any casting decisions for the proposed biographical film went
ahead.
“I've heard there are rumours about Rebel Wilson will be playing me
in a movie. Let's see if that turns out to be true," she told the
sold-out crowd, according to the MailOnline.
“Just because I'm plus-sized doesn't mean she's playing me," the
incensed star added.
Adele killed off the rumours following reports by British newspaper
The Star, who said on Sunday (03Apr16) the Australian actress
wanted to play the singer in a movie about her rise to fame from
humble beginnings.
“Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious
actress," a source allegedly told the paper. “This is going to be a
huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her
popularity.”
Adele may have taken offense at the suggestion that Rebel, 36,
would be able to "sound like her in the movie with a little
technical wizardry."
In what seemed like a direct reply to the news the Bridesmaids star
was desperate for her blessing, it now seems like Adele is keen to
take the upper hand.
Adele finishes up the U.K. leg of her tour at London’s O2 Arena
tonight (5Apr16), before touring Scandinavia at the end of the
month.
