Adam Levine and Justin Bieber set to lead 2013 People's Choice Awards
Pop stars Adam Levine and Justin Bieber are set to dominate the 2013 People's Choice Awards after landing a handful of nominations a piece.
The Voice judge and Maroon 5 frontman's Overexposed will duke it out with Bieber's Believe for the title of Favorite Album, while the 18 year old's Boyfriend is up against Levine's Payphone in the Favorite Music Video category.
Levine, who scored a whopping six mentions, also scooped nods for
Favorite Band, Celebrity Judge, Competition Show, and Song for One
More Night, which has just tied Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe as
the longest running number one of 2012, and Bieber follows with
five nominations for Favorite Male Artist, Pop Artist, and Music
Fan Following.
But it appears the category of Breakout Artist will be the most
contested - Jepsen, Fun., Gotye, and U.K. boy bands One Direction
and The Wanted are all up for the prize.
In the movie categories, People magazine's newly-crowned Sexiest
Man Alive Channing Tatum, who this year starred in The Vow, 21 Jump
Street, and Magic Mike, picked up four acting nods, and Emma Stone
and Jennifer Lawrence tied with three for their respective roles in
The Amazing Spider-Man and The Hunger Games.
The winners will be unveiled at the annual awards ceremony, hosted
by The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, in Los Angeles on 9
January.
