Adam Lambert defends under-fire Miley Cyrus
Pop star Adam Lambert has waded in to defend Miley Cyrus following her ultra-raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, insisting the youngster was just "having fun".
The former child star sparked outrage when she cavorted with chart-topper Robin Thicke while wearing skimpy, flesh-colored rubber underwear at the televised ceremony on Sunday night (25Aug13).
The jaw-dropping routine has provoked an official complaint from
pressure group the Parents Television Council and a wave of
criticism from reviewers.
One national British newspaper has even branded the former Hannah
Montana actress "an international laughing stock" over her antics,
but Lambert - who sparked controversy at the American Music Awards
in 2009 with a gay kiss during his routine - is backing Cyrus.
The American Idol runner-up took to Twitter.com to write, "Listen
if it wasn't ur (your) cup of tea - all good but why is everyone
spazzing (sic)? Hey - she's doin something right. We all talkin
(sic)... I didn't actually state whether or not I liked MileyCyrus
performance. I merely said she was having fun and to cut her some
slack."
