Actress Lea DeLaria engaged

Orange Is The New Black actress Lea Delaria is engaged.

The star met fashion editor Chelsea Fairless through castmate Emma Myles in 2012 and now the couple is preparing to wed.

DeLaria, 56, reveals she popped the question at an afterparty for the Screen Actors Guild Awards last month (Jan15), but kept the news under wraps until announcing it onstage at a Lincoln Center event in New York on Thursday night (05Feb15).

She tells Eonline.com, "I proposed to her. Everyone saw how emotional I was at the SAG awards. I was so filled with love. I turned to her at the Netflix party that night and asked her to marry me. We announced it to all of our friends there."

The pair has already started making plans for its big day and the actress will be calling on a couple of famous friends to play key roles in the ceremony.

She says, "We definitely have a few ideas. Sandra Bernhardt will be marrying us. She's a very close friend and she's an officiant. We called her right away. And Jesse Tyler Ferguson will be my best man. We go way back."

She adds, "We want to do it in the summer so my entire cast can be there. But there's not enough time to get everything together for this summer. We're thinking July 2016. We want a nice long, romantic engagement."
