Aaron Carter is suffering from an eating disorder caused by stress.

The former child star revealed in 2015 that he suffers from a hiatal hernia, where part of the stomach squeezes up into the chest through an opening in the diaphragm, while hitting back at body shamers who commented about his weight loss.

The 29-year-old embarked on a Twitter rant on Wednesday (26Apr17) against those who have told him he is too skinny, and insisted his slim physique isn't down to choice, but rather he is unable to gain weight due to the hernia which has effectively given him an eating disorder.

"By the way y'all wanna know why I'm so skinny? It's because @ 19 i was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, I didn't choose that. be kind to me," he wrote. "It's a terrible stress condition that affects me having an appetite and I'm sorry this is the way I am. Basically I have an eating disorder."

He continued by insisting he sometimes wished he looked better or was able to eat more and suggested users ask his older brother Nick Carter if they don't believe him.

"It's a stress eating disorder, I'm sorry I didn't choose this," he tweeted. "No I don't do drugs, yes I feel pain, I haven't stopped working since I was 7 years old 22 years later and I still won't give up... I might not be exactly where I want to be but I'm doing much better than I was before ... Goodnight."

The singer previously denied he was battling a drug addiction in 2015 after much speculation about his weight.
