A.J. McLean breaking Backstreet Boys baby trend

A.J. Mclean is set to break the Backstreet Boys baby trend - his pregnant wife is expecting the group's first little girl.

The Larger Than Life hitmaker's bandmates Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell all have sons, making frequent reunions a male-dominated affair.

But, in a SocialCam video message posted on Twitter.com on Wednesday (04Jul12), McLean revealed the Backstreet tradition was about to change.

He said, "We're having a girl! A little girl named Ava Jaymes. Thank you guys for all of your love and support... It's crazy - the first Backstreet girl."

Ironically McLean, real name Alexander James, and his daughter will share the same nickname.

The singer wed Rochelle Karidis in December (11) and the couple confirmed its pregnancy in April (12).
