50 Cent wants to sign Zayn Malik to his record label

Rapper 50 Cent is keen to sign One Direction star Zayn Malik to his record label.

The British pop star has recently been working on side projects away from the boyband, including a collaboration with producer Naughty Boy, and 50 Cent wants to give Malik a solo deal with his G-Unit Records if he ever decides to exit One Direction.

The rapper tells Britain's Sun on Sunday newspaper, "If Zayn wants a rap career, just because of who he is, he is going to sell records. But if he wants to be credible he has to be with the right people. I'd happily sign him up to my label, mentor him and have him working with the biggest rappers on the planet."

50 Cent is also keen to team up with Malik's current boss Simon Cowell, adding, "I have always wanted to work with Simon, so this could be a joint venture. There is no doubt the members of One Direction are going to launch solo careers, and sometimes the bravest go on to be the biggest. Look at Justin Timberlake."
