50 Cent to stream festival gig using new app

50 Cent is set to make history at the South By Southwest festival in Texas next week (11Mar14) by streaming his concert on a mobile app he has invested in.

The rapper has become a minority owner of Hang w/ and he has been using it to give fans a courtside experience when he attends New York Knicks basketball games - but now he's set to give the new technology a big boost after signing on to broadcast an upcoming show using the app, which has been downloaded more than a million times since it launched a year ago (Mar13).

50 says, "I'm excited to be able to bring my fans behind the scenes and give the opportunity to those who couldn’t make it a chance to experience a concert at South By Southwest."
