Singer/songwriter/actor Tyler Hilton's Hollywood story may seem more common now that Myspace and YouTube artists seem to be scoring record deals every other day, but when Tyler got his big break this was not the case.
Having taught himself Elvis songs as a child, Tyler had been singing for years when he called up Los Angeles radio station KLOS at the age of 16 in hopes of scoring Jonny Lang tickets. While on the phone with the DJs he impressed them so much with an a capella version of Lang's "Breakin' Me" that they asked him to be a part of the station's Christmas concert.
Tyler was eventually signed to Maverick Records and his first major record album, The Tracks of Tyler Hilton, was released in September 2004.
Since then Tyler has also dabbled in the acting world, most notably playing a singer/songwriter Chris Keller on the CW's "One Tree Hill."
The young actor has also been featured in films like Charlie Bartlet and even got to play his childhood idol, Elvis Presley, in Walk the Line.
Check out our YH Studio interview with Tyler where he perfomrs his single "Sunset Blvd." and tells host Dana Ward about how he balances acting, recording, and touring.
