Born: August 6, 1981
Music artist Travie McCoy was born in Geneva, New York, to a Haitian father and an Irish/Native American mother.
He met fellow musician Matt McGinley in his high school gym class and the two became fast friends. In 2001 they formed alternative hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes, with Travis as the lead singer.
Travie released his solo album, Lazarus, in June 2010 under the pseudonym Travie McCoy. The hit single "Billionaire" hit number 4 on Billboard’s Hot 100, and quickly became an anthem for broke young adults.

Travie dated Katy Perry on and off for several years.
He is the godfather of Bronx Mowgli Wentz, son of Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
