International glam rock band Tokio Hotel is making a name for themselves checking off one country at a time and aren't stopping until they are known worldwide! These four German guys aren't worried about language barriers because their singles have crossed country lines into Portugal, Spain, Italy and over seas in the United States. The quartet began when vocalist Bill Kaulitz and guitarist Tom Kaulitz, who are identical twin brothers, drummer Gustav Schäfer and bass-guitarist Georg Listing met in 2001 after a live show in a club in Magdeburg, Germany.

They started to become really well known when their first English album, Scream, was released in 2007. Shortly thereafter they won the award for Best New Artist at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
Obviously there's more behind the edgy hairstyles and dark makeup and we're eager to see Tokio Hotel continue their international fame!
Young Hollywood spoke to Tokio Hotel backstage at their concert at Hollywood & Highland about their MTV VMA nomination and their musical influences.

At first, their band name was Devilish which was soon changed to Tokio Hotel: "Tokio" the German language spelling of the Japanese city Tokyo, due to a love of the city, and "Hotel" due to their constant touring and living in hotels.

Bill Kaulitz was molded as a wax figure in Madame Tussauds museum in Berlin in 2008. At 19, he is now the youngest person to be duplicated by that museum.
