This three-piece Irish band gained musical fame across the pond in 2008 with their debut album The Script which wielded five UK chart-topping singles, including the highly successful song "The Man Who Can't Be Moved." The band is made up of the talented Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, and Glen Power. They describe their music as a soulful blend of lyrical hip-hop mixed with pop melodies.
The Script, however, isn't new to the music scene. O'Donoghue and Sheehan started their music careers in songwriting and producing. The two spent years in Los Angeles working with modern R&B legends before starting their own band and moving back to Dublin. After being nominated in several categories at the 2009 Meteor Awards, The Script won Best Irish Album and Best Irish Band. The band is working on their second album which is rumored to be released stateside in early 2010. They are set to conquer the American market, and so far they've proven that they are moving fast towards that goal. YH selected them as one of the Dazzeling Dozen to keep your eye on for our Verge to Emerge campaign.
