SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS
| SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS This rock band was formed by four Berklee College of Music graduates in 2006: Justin Tranter (vocals), Cole Whittle (bass), Dan Crean (drums) and Aaron Lee Tasjan (guitarist; though Tasjan was later replaced by Stevy Pyne two years later). With two albums released, "We Love You" and "You Love You" in 2008 and 2010, Semi Precious Weapons has become famous for "filthy glamour rock," a style that made Lady Gaga choose them as her opening act for her 2009-2011 Monster Ball Tour. Aside from their success with music, the members of SPW are exploring other facets of the industry. Tranter’s jewelry design, which originally funded the creation of the bands first album "We Love You," has turned into a successful line, "Fetty," sold at established department store Barneys New York. Tranter also appeared on MTV’s MADE, coaching a teenager who dreamed of being a base guitarist. Ever since 2006, Semi Precious Weapons has made a unique name for itself in the rock industry, distinguishing itself from other artists and gaining millions of devoted fans.
FUN FACTS: The band had a cameo in Lady Gaga's video for "Telephone." |
