RYAN PHILLIPE BIO

RYAN PHILLIPPE

Born: September 10, 1974

New Castle, Delaware

Ryan Phillippe did not make his Hollywood debut in a small, insignificant role. In fact, his career began when he played daytime television's first gay teenager, Billy Douglas, on the soap opera "One Life to Live." Talk about a demanding role! It wasn't until a few years later, though, that Ryan began appearing in films.

Now, his performances in films such as Cruel Intentions, Crash, and Flags of our Fathers (to name a few) have made him a bona fide movie star! Ryan denies this stereotype, however, and has been known for saying, "People keep trying to make me a movie star but they just don't understand I'm not a movie star, I'm an actor." Besides being an actor, Ryan is known for being a doting dad to his two kids with actress Reese Witherspoon; Ava and Deacon. When he's not busy being a family man, Ryan also runs a production company called Lucid Films with fellow actors Seth Green and Breckin Meyer. With his talent and skills, Ryan will continue to make his mark in Hollywood, whether it is in front of or behind the camera!

FUN FACTS:

Ryan loves Frank Sinatra and even named his dog after the late American legend.

He is a black belt in Tai Kwon Do!

Ryan played baseball and soccer in high school.

He loves photography, writing, and cartooning.
