Members Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Brent Kutzle, and Eddie Fisher may have some of the hottest hit songs, but they are still having trouble adjusting to their rock god status. It was a long road to mainstream fame for One Republic, and an even longer one for lead singer Ryan Tedder. After performing on an MTV music competition show, the then 21-year-old was discovered by producer extraordinaire Timbaland and for the next two years Tedder followed the music master to studios all across the country to learn the art of production. After returning home to Colorado in 2003, One Republic was formed.
They eventually found a following of fans on MySpace, but it wasn't until a remix of their song "Apologize" landed on Timbaland's album Shock Value that the band rocketed to mainstream fame. With a successful debut album Dreaming Out Loud and a distinct sound, One Republic are definitely rock stars, whether they know it or not!
