MIRANDA COSGROVEBorn: May 14, 1993 Los Angeles, California When Cosgrove was three years old she sang and danced at a restaurant called “Taste of LA.” An agent recognized her potential and immediately signed her with his agency. With the help of the agency she scored several commercials roles such as Burger King, McDonalds and many more. While participating in a series of commercial spots, she also auditioned for bigger roles. She finally got her break, beating out 1,000 kids, when she received the role of the band manager in the hit movie School of Rock starring Jack Black. While filming the movie she was informed that the pilot for the Nickelodeon television show “Drake and Josh” had been picked up. She was given the role of younger sister to the title characters. In 2007, Miranda was cast for another Nickelodeon TV series, "iCarly." She plays the main character Carly Shay who makes her own web show. She also made her true music debut, singing the theme song for "iCarly" called “Leave It All to Me.” On June 2008, she released the "iCarly" soundtrack. Her version of “About You Now” reached number 47 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also did voice-over work on the movie Despicable Me scheduled to be released in 2010.
