While Minka Kelly has only been acting for a few years, she knew after her first acting class that she had “caught the bug,” and has not given up since! Kelly landed small roles in films like Devil’s Highway, and The Kingdom, and in early 2006 was cast as Lyla Garrity, the beautiful and endearing cheerleader on the NBC series Friday Night Lights. Kelly wanted the role to be as authentic as possible so she began training with a local Texas high school’s cheerleading squad.
