While Minka Kelly has only been acting for a few years, she knew after her first acting class that she had “caught the bug,” and has not given up since! Kelly landed small roles in films like Devil’s Highway, and The Kingdom, and in early 2006 was cast as Lyla Garrity, the beautiful and endearing cheerleader on the NBC series Friday Night Lights. Kelly wanted the role to be as authentic as possible so she began training with a local Texas high school’s cheerleading squad. The preparation paid off, and Kelly’s portrayal of the lovely Lyla in Friday Night Lights has earned her great praise, with The New York Times calling her performance heartbreaking. A heartbreaker indeed, this brown-eyed-beauty has entered every Hot-List in 2008, and continues to catch the eye of everyone in Hollywood. Young Hollywood caught up with her and the rest of the Friday Night Light’s cast at a Fred Segal Earth Day event where she talked, about everything from fashion to global warming!
