As a child, Megan was already deemed a triple-threat; she was a dancer, actress, and model. For years, she worked hard at perfecting her crafts, and in 1999, Megan won numerous awards at South Carolina's American Modeling and Talent Convention.

Her first breakout role was in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 2001 film, Holiday in the Sun. A year later, she played the recurring role of Ione Starr on the short-lived television show, "Ocean Ave." Not too long afterwards, her film career proved to be on the rise as she starred alongside Lindsay Lohan in the movie, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. In addition, her television career was also taking off as she replaced an actress on the television sitcom, "Hope & Faith". Through this role, she was able to acquire a greater fan base. However, the film that exposed her to the majority of her male audience was none other than Transformers. This action film was such a huge success that it even spawned its own video game, for which Megan did voice-over work. All the buzz helped foster a sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Megan has also gained many accolades for her beauty. She was named one of People Magazine's "100 Most Beautiful People" (2009) and one of Maxim Magazine's "Hot 100" (2007, 2008). Also, she was named FHM's "Sexiest Woman in the World" (2008) and captured the top spot on Moviephone's "The 25 Hottest Actors Under 25" (2008).
