Mark-Paul Gosselaar was born on March 1, 1974, in Panorama City, California. Gosselaar began acting at a young age and attended Hart High School in the Santa Clarita Valley. After a number of small commercials and movies in 1989, he was cast as Zack Morris in the NBC hit series Saved by the Bell which aired from 1989 to 1993. His also appeared in the less successful spin-off series Saved by the Bell: The College Years, which ended production in 1993.
In the late nineties, he was cast in films like She Cried No and Dead Man on Campus, and played the central character in the TV drama Hyperion Bay. Most recently, he starred in Commander in Chief (2005) and as detective John Clark in NYPD Blue. Gosselaar also appeared in independent films like Beer Money (2001) and Sticks and Stones (2008), and gained a starring role as defense attorney Jerry Kellerman in Raising the Bar. In 2009, Gosselaar made his Off-Broadway stage debut in the play The Understudy and has guest starred in TNT’s series Rozzoli & Isles. Considering his talent, we definitely hope to see more of Gosselaar in the future!
He met his wife Lisa Ann Russell on Saved by the Bell: The College Years in 1996.
