KRIS ALLEN

Born: June 21, 1985

Jacksonville, Arkansas

Music came naturally to Kris as he began playing the viola in elementary school. He also taught himself to play the guitar at age 13. In high school, Kris was a member of the orchestra, eventually earning a position in the Arkansas all-state orchestra. Kris went on to attend the University of Central Arkansas, majoring in business. In 2007, Kris produced his own album entitled “Brand New Shoes” with college friends and band-mates. 600 copies were made and given out to friends and family. The following year he married his high school sweetheart and former University of Arkansas homecoming queen, Katy O’Connell. Kris decided to take his final go at his music career by trying out of the 2009 season of "American Idol." He became a finalist and quickly moved to the top. Kris was victorious over favored contestant and good friend Adam Lambert.

Kris has signed a record deal with Jive Records and his album is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2009. The album is said to be in the pop/rock genre and very similar to his "American Idol" performances. We expect big things from this talented young artist!
