Born: January 17, 1971
Born Robert James Ritchie, Kid Rock is a successful musician known for his eclectic sound that fuses rap, rock, blues, and country. At age eleven, Kid Rock began honing his craft by joining a breakdance crew, practicing on turntables and performing at basement parties. By the time he was seventeen, he signed a deal with Jive records and released his debut album Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast. After a couple of failed record deals, Kid Rock started his own independent label, Top Dog Records, and worked as a janitor at White Room Studios to get recording time for his fourth album, Early Morning Stoned Pimp. Soon after, he caught the attention of Atlantic Records and through them released his first mainstream album Devil Without a Cause, which became a huge success with singles such as "Cowboy" and "Bawitdaba."
Since then, Kid Rock has continued to tear up the music scene with his extensive style and attitude. Despite this success, it's easy to see that Kid Rock is all about the music and less about awards. He once told Young Hollywood, "Who cares if you win a Grammy"¦ the real winners are the people who get to perform, who get to play their music for a mass amount of people." Looks like this rocker will continue to produce and perform hot music for a long time!
Kid Rock was married to former Playboy playmate and actress Pam Anderson.
His first acting role was in the David Spade comedy, Joe Dirt.
He has a band called Twisted Brown Trucker.
