This rising hip hop star was born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi. After moving to Brooklyn, New York, Kid Cudi's music career rapidly grew with the release of his mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi. Music superstar, Kanye West, was impressed with this mixtape and signed Kid Cudi to his label GOOD Music. Kid Cudi was featured on Kanye West's album, 808s & Heartbreak and had a memorable performance at the 2008 VMA's with DJ AM, Travis Barker, and DT the Rapper.
However, it was not until 2009 that Kid Cudi really hit it big. With the popularity of his hit, "Day n' Night," Kid Cudi becaem a true hip hop star. His music and style is different from that of his peers. He is very creative with catchy lyrics and hot beats. There is so much hype surrounding this hot young artist that he is often considered one hip hop's leaders for the next generation. His debut album under Universal Motown Records, Man On The Moon: The End of Day, was released in August 2009.
