KATE VOEGELE

This soulful singer doesn't want to just be the next big thing. Growing up to the music of Eric Clapton and Joni Mitchell, Kate said: "It's my personal goal to continue the standard set by those before me." So far she's doing just that! Kate began writing her own songs at the tender age of 15 and has often been described as a female John Mayer. In fact, her single "I Won't Disagree" won Pop Song of the Year at the New York Songwriters' Circle in 2006. That same year, Kate was the first artist to sign a deal with MySpace Records.

Young Hollywood caught up with the singer right after she joined the label and got the first look at her recurring guest role on The CW's "One Tree Hill" as a young artist named Mia. While playing Mia, Kate performed numerous songs from her debut album Don't Look Away. Always wanting to challenge herself, the singer was finishing her Psychology degree with the University of Phoenix while headlining her own tour!
