Jordin Sparks was born on December 22, 1989, in Glendale, Arizona. She rose to musical fame when she won the title of "American Idol" on the show’s sixth season. Following her victory, Sparks released her self-titled debut album which has sold millions worldwide. She garnered much acclaim for her album, receiving American Music Award and Grammy Award nominations. Since winning "American Idol," Sparks has kept busy. She performed for former U.S. president George W. Bush and current president Barack Obama, as well as sang the U.S. National anthem at the 2008 Super Bowl XLII. Her second album Battlefield was released in July 2009.
