Piano man John Legend has been doing even bigger things since his days as prom king and student council president at his high school in Cleveland, Ohio. So when did the 5-time Grammy winner become the soulful singer/songwriter he is today? Legend told Young Hollywood at the City of Hope Gala that he knew from the start he was destined to be a star. He also gave Young Hollywood his advice on how to make it in the music biz.
Stars aligned for Legend when a friend introduced him to his cousin, Kanye West, who took Legend under his wing and signed him to his independent record label, G.O.O.D Music. Legend's first major album dropped in 2004 and since then he has won more than a handful of Grammy's, released his sophomore album and collaborated with the likes of Alicia Keys, Kanye West and the Black Eyed Peas. Of course, Legend does like to have his fun off the stage, and Young Hollywood caught up with him at the Sundance Festival where he talked parties, music and how to stay warm! With success all over the entertainment industry, Legend isn't going anywhere and here at Young Hollywood, we believe this soulful singer and passionate pianist is one of the great living legends!
