Gerard started his acting career by performing in stage plays in Scotland. His first stage role was in "Coriolanus." The next step in his career was a part in the film, Mrs. Brown

His career continued to grow as he got roles in a variety of television shows and films such as, The Phantom of the Opera and The Game of Their Lives. After playing the Phantom, Gerard hit it big by starring as King Leonidas in the epic film, 300. In the movie, Gerard was able to showcase his acting skills and his incredible body.

Gerard continues to work in films and can be seen in P.S. I Love You with Hilary Swank and in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla. 2009 was a big year for Gerard with his leads in Gamer, The Ugly Truth with Katherine Heigl and Law Abiding Citizen alongside Jamie Foxx.

Gerard has shown that he is a powerhouse here in Hollywood. With his great acting skills, heroic demeanor, and stoic looks, it will be exciting to see what Gerard will star in next.

• He received a "Certificate of Bravery," from The Royal Humane Society for saving a young boy from drowning in a river.
• He likes to be called "Gerry."

• He graduated from Glasgow University with a law degree.
