
Emmanuelle Grey Rossum was born September 12, 1986 in New York City, New York. Emmy began her early career in singing and was offered the opportunity to join the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus. In her five years there she had the opportunity to sing in five different languages and perform in 20 different operas. She performed with opera legends such as Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. At age 12, Emmy began pursuing her career in acting.
Her most famous roles are The Phantom of the Opera, Poseidon and The Day After Tomorrow. Her role in The Phantom of the Opera opened doors for her singing career and she began recording music for her debut album Inside Out. In 2006, she was named the Superstar of Tomorrow at the Young Hollywood Awards. She isn’t just a Hollywood superstar though. She is the ambassador for YouthAIDS and is the official spokesperson for PiNKiTUDE, which helps raise awareness for breast cancer.
She loves horseback riding, reading, and ballet.
She took cooking classes at Le Cordon Bleu in London.
Emmy is currently taking classes at Columbia University and splitting her time between New York and Los Angeles.
