Growing up, Emma Roberts spent a lot of her childhood on the sets of her aunt’s, Julia Roberts, films, which inspired her to want to enter the entertainment industry. Following the footsteps of her aunt and father, she started to land small parts in films such as Blow (2001) where she played the daughter of Johnny Depp. She was later quoted on how she had no clue what a major actor she had been working with at the time.
She then had her breakout role as a singer and actor in 2004 with her own Nickelodeon TV series, “Unfabulous”. She pursued a solo singer career releasing her debut album for the show’s soundtrack but soon decided she wanted to focus on acting. She continued to take roles directed towards younger audiences such as the films Aquamarine, Nancy Drew and Hotel for Dogs but soon made the switch from child to mainstream actor. She has since starred in the films Valentine’s Day, It’ s Kind of a Funny Story alongside Zach Galifianakis and Twelve costarring Chace Crawford and Rory Culkin. She has also appeared with Culkin in the films Lymelife and Scream 4. Check out when Emma came through the Young Hollywood studio to talk about her role in the movie The Art of Getting By.
