Born: February 21, 1987 Halifax, Nova Scotia
From a young age, Ellen Page knew she wanted to be an actress. She attended the Neptune Theater School and earned a role on the Canadian television show "Pit Pony" by the time she was only ten years old! Her talent was recognized early on and Ellen began receiving award nominations for her performances.
Since then, she has made a name for herself in Hollywood by choosing to play unconventional characters in indie films such as Hard Candy, Mouth to Mouth, and, most notably, Juno. Critics and audiences raved about Ellen's portrayal of pregnant teen Juno MacGuff, and it was this performance for which she earned her first Oscar nomination. The budding starlet told Young Hollywood exclusively that the best part of being nominated was simply meeting all of her idols.
Now, she continues to steer clear of typical roles and has a slew of upcoming projects in the works. She recently teamed up with Drew Barrymore and Juliette Lewis in the roller derby flick "Whip It". We know there are great things to come from this quirky and remarkable actress!
