Her first major part came in the movie I Am Sam opposite Hollywood stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Sean Penn. Dakota proved that she can hold her own alongside such heavy hitters and her performance was met with praise! Since then she's starred in a steady stream of films including Man on Fire and Hide and Seek.

Young Hollywood chatted up the cutie at the Breakthrough of the Year awards where she dished on War of the Worlds costar Justin Chatwin. Though she's already accomplished more than most teenagers, she shows no signs of slowing down and is sure to blossom into an even more mature and talented star. Dakota learned to read at age 2.

At the age of 8, she became the youngest person to be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award, for her supporting performance in I Am Sam (2001).
