To some, social networking sites can be more drama than they are worth. But for Colbie Caillat, Myspace was her ticket to fame. Her popularity on the site was attributed to her song "Bubbly," and it led her to have the title as the "Number-one unsigned singer in her genre." Lauryn Hill was Colbie's first musical inspiration. At age 11, Colbie became enthralled with Hill's singing in Sister Act 2.

Colbie started taking vocal lessons and, in a twist of fate, she met a producer who previously worked with country superstar Carrie Underwood. He hired Colbie to sing on a few techno songs for runway models' shows. The pair grew professionally and began writing together. At 19, she picked up an acoustic guitar and the two recorded her first album. In 2008, Colbie recorded "Lucky" with Jason Mraz. Guitar in hand, Colbie Caillat will continue to draw fans in with her pure voice and alluring lyrics.
