Growing up in the small town of Cullman, Alabama, Channing Tatum had other aspirations in mind before he became an A-celeb. In Channing's younger years, his parents wanted him to stay out of trouble, so they enrolled him in various sports. During Channing's freshman year in high school, he was sent to military school where Channing gained a love of football. In his senior year of high school, Channing received an athletic scholarship.
However, after graduating high school in 1998, Channing moved to Miami, Florida, where he took on jobs as a construction worker, a salesman and a mortgage broker. One day, when Channing was walking down the street, he was discovered by a talent model scout. Channing started to model for Armani,Abrecombie and Fitch, Dolce and Gabbana, American Eagle Outfitters as well as appearing in Vogue Magazine. This allowed Channing the opportuity to support his family and himself.
In 2004, Channing decided to try out his acting chops and he appeared in "CSI: Miami" and later booked a job in 2005 for the feature film Coach Carter. In 2007, Channing co-starred alongside Amanda Bynes in the movie She's the Man, and also in Step Up. Channing has recently starred in the hit movie Fighting, G.I Joe: The Rise of the Cobra, and Dear John.
Throughout his career, Channing has made a name for himself as a model and actor, where he has earned himself a spot in Hollywood's hot list and that's why we selected Channing as one of our stars to watch for "Verge to Emerge."
Is currently married to Step- Up co-star Jenna Dewan.
Has a dog named Meeka.
Prefers to do his own stunts when he is able.
