Born: October 23, 1976Cat Deeley, best known in America as the host of reality competition "So You Think You Can Dance," is a vivacious and bubbly British import who has been working across the pond since she was barely 14.
Born Catherine Elizabeth Deeley in Birmingham, England, Cat had her first taste of the limelight when she reached the national finals level as a model on "The Clothes Show." She was signed to an agency thanks to the show but continued her education despite the pleas of her representation to pursue modeling full-time. After graduating at the age of 18 she finally took her agent's advice and was a successful model more many years before turning to TV hosting in 1997.
Her first hosting gig was on MTV UK with Edith Bowman and within a year she was co-hosting a saturday-morning children's program with British TV-hosting legends Ant & Dec and even flew solo on the show's spin-off. After working consistantly in the UK for over a decade Cat made the move to the U.S. in 2006 when she took over for a pregnant Lauren Sanchez as the host of the American version of "So You Think You Can Dance."
Check out our YH Studio interview with Cat where she tells host RJ Williams how she handles her nerves before a live show and what it's like to be her own stylist.
