Cam Joslin Gigandet was born on August 16, 1982 in Tacoma, Washington. He attended Auburn Senior High School and graduated in 2001. After graduation Gigandet moved to California to attend Santa Monica Community College. It was there where he took is first acting class. After only one course he was in love and decided to pursue a career in acting.
In 2003, Gigandet received his first break with a guest appearance on the TV series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." It was only up from here, as he scored other television roles such as "The Young & The Restless" and "Jack & Bobby." In 2006, he was given a recurring role as Kevin Volchok on the television series "The O.C." It was this role that opened a door of opportunities for Gigandet. He was offered bigger roles in films such as American Crude, On the Doll, Making Changes and Never Back Down.
With several movies under his belt, Gigandet was cast in the role of James, the evil tracker vampire, in the huge hit film Twilight. The movie was based on the novel written by Stephanie Meyer. He also starred alongside Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in the film Pandora.
