AVRIL LAVIGNE BIO
AVRIL LAVIGNE Born: September 27, 1984 Belleville, Ontario, Canada
It was Avril's mom who first spotted the popstar's talent when she was only a tiny tot singing along to church songs. By the time she was fourteen, Avril won a competition to sing along with fellow Canadian Shania Twain on her first major concert tour. It wasn't long before she was writing songs and recording for her debut album. The album, Let Go, was released in 2002 and Avril became an overnight sensation. With catchy tunes and a pop-rock and punk sound, the album was an international success and was eventually nominated for eight Grammy awards.
Was Married to Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley. Co-wrote Kelly Clarkson's hit song "Breakaway" for The Princess Diaries 2. Recorded a cover of the John Lennon song "Imagine" for a charity album.
