50 CENT
This savvy entrepreneur and musical genius has dazzled us with his talents since surviving nine gun shot wounds and bouncing back with his debut platinum selling album
Get Rich or Die Tryin'. But it doesn't stop there! With the creation of his own record label, G-Unit, and the release of his next two albums, The Massacre and Curtis, 50 Cent solidified his hold on the hip-hop thrown! He became the proud recipient of fifty-eight music awards including three American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and thirteen Grammy nominations.
He also showed off his slew of other talents with the creation of the G-Unit Clothing Company and with starring roles in films Get Rich or Die Tryin' and Home of the Brave. At the Sundance Film Festival, 50 announced to Young Hollywood that he has started his own film production company and plans to get the cameras rolling immediately. He has proven himself as the quintessential business man and it's only fair to say that everything he touches turns to gold!
FUN FACTS:
He has an 11 year old son named Marquise Jackson.
50 cent was shot in the face, hand and legs by a nine-millimeter gun at close range in 2000 and survived a total of nine bullets! He now often wears a bulletproof vest and drives around in a bullet and bombproof SUV, inspiring the Play Station 2 game "50 Cent: Bulletproof."
His real name is Curtis Jackson and he was raised by his grandparents in Queens, NY, after his mother was killed when he was eight years old.
He signed with Eminem's label in 2002 because he knew he would have the freedom to say what he wanted to say.
