It certainly didn’t hurt R & B singer, Joe, to grow up in an environment filled with gospel music.  Both his parents are ministers and at a young age Joe sang in the choir at church, played guitar, and eventually directed that choir.  In the late 1980’s, he started playing in local bands in Alabama.  He eventually moved to New York City to start what later would become a very successful music career and earn him chart topping hits.
While working in a gospel music store in New York City, he ended up meeting producer, Vincent Herbert, and recording a three track demo.  Joe released his debut album “Everything” in 1993.  It spawned a number of hit singles including the #10 R & B hit “I’m in Luv.”  He then signed with Jive Records for his 1997 album, “All That I Am” which reached No. 13 on the Billboard 200 album charts and No. 4 on the R & B charts.  “All that I Am” eventually went on to sell over a million copies in the U.S.
Joe released his fourth album “My Name is Joe,” in 2000.  This album reached the top of the R & B album charts and No. 2 on the Billboard 200 which ended up selling over three million copies.  In 2001, His Better Days album was released, reaching No. 32 on the Billboard 200 and No. 4 on the R & B charts.  His “And Then…” album was released in late 2003.  After hits such as “I’m in Luv” and “Stutter,” Joe is back with a new video for “Ain’t Nothing Like Me,” featuring Blair Underwood and is dropping his new album on April 24th.
